The Meaning of Jueyin

Jueyin, the last one of the six channels and holds great significance in Chinese Medicine. Jueyin means the two yin exchange completely, referring to Taiyin and Shaoyin. Jueyin represents union or closing and confines the yin qi, allowing the yang qi to rise and emit properly.

Jueyin is wind in the heavens and wood on earth.

The tai and shao of Taiyin and Shaoyin refer to greater and lesser, old and young, or numerous and scanty, respectively. The jue in Jueyin means short and paused yin. As the conformation in which the yin is completed and the yang emerges, Jueyin is fittingly referred to as the short yin or paused yin.
